This is a collection of experiments we and others have
tried or are working on.
Trips -
The most commonly used experiment for investigators, "trips" are placed
item(s) in hopes of physical and intelligent manipulation. There are a variety of trips which can be used such as; dice
set on select numbers, tracing an object on paper and leaving the object in its tracing, cooking oil or flour on mirrors
or surfaces, etc.
Black Lights
- We have started to experiment with black
lights for their illuminosity. Since the cameras we normally use run Infrared lights, we thought that using a black
light with a camera (not using IR) may be able to illuminate things such as mists, shadows, and possibly pick up on other
worldly things, in a different light spectrum.
Ion Generator
- Leading theory is that when a spirit attempts to manifest,
it draws energy from the atmosphere around it. An ion generator releases negatively charged ions into the atmosphere.
*Since using the ion generator on our investigations, we
have noticed an increase of physical activity as well as better evps.
Live E.V.P.
- When recording an e.v.p., the sound goes through an
electronic filter of a microphone, making it possible to hear on a recording. Some investigators have tried different
approaches to this experiment. In our approach, we set up a microphone with high sensitivity and connect it with a stereo
system. If an entity is close enough to the mic, and is able to communicate, we may be able to hear the spirit
in real time.
Listen Up -
There's an infomercial about this product (you can
buy at Walmart) on tv. It is a listening device that helps sort through background noise and amplifies sound into your
headphones through a built in microphone.
The idea is to audibly hear any kind of voice that
may be at another frequency. One problem we have found is when using the device near an object creating EMF, an
obnoxiously loud squeal overwhelms the headset. So if using this device, find a spot with no EMF leak.
Magnetism
- One idea we had is magnetism. The line
of thought on this was brought on by the uses of the magnetic field levels and their ties with paranormal activity.
So, what happens when magnents are introduced in an investigation? We have only started this experiment and will draw
conclusions in time. Anyone who has any success with this idea, please contact us and tell us about it.
Familiaration Stimuli
- Also known as the "Singapore Theory", it is an attempt
to recreate the environment through the use of period related music in hopes of increasing the activity of a location.
Other variations could also be used such as playing movies pertaining to different time periods.
